AM:  12 easy miles in Lexington, Kentucky. Ran with a running buddy I met while living here a couple years ago. Was great to see him. Averaged 6:35 pace. Felt like 7:30 pace; it's amazing how much easier it is to run near sea level with more oxygen. The pace was not good for the hamstring, though. It's not doing well; I may need to take some days off.

Hope you have a good time in KY. Sorry to hear about the hamstring. I am convinced that the exercises that isolate my hamstring having been doing more harm than good. On Wednesday it was feeling great after two days of nothing then I did some of my PT routine and the tweak came back. who knows...

Good points Fritz. Yeah, hamstrings are definitely frustrating. And, I agree -- I'm not sure all the hamstring PT I've been doing has made any difference. We've both got to get this hamstring thing behind us -- for good.

Nice run today. Effort tends to feel easier with company. Good luck with the hamstring - not fun.

Andrea was doing some specific hamstring isolated exercises this week too, and it seems to have made her worse too. What a stupid muscle group the hamstrings are... Impossible to figure out!!

Glad you got to hook up with a running buddy while you're away. Sorry to hear the hamstring isn't feeling better. I'm almost as anxious for it to get better as you are :-) Maybe some pool running next week is in order.

Sorry to hear about the hammy. Very frustrating. Play it smart. You've still got plenty of time until Boston with your base and fitness.

Hope you manage to sort out the hamstring. Injuries are so frustrating; sometimes you've got to listen to your body and rest so that it can work its magic.
