22 miler up and down Provo canyon with Fritz, Zak, Scott, Mike, Josh, and Reed. 10 mile warm-up up the canyon, then 8 mile tempo down the canyon in 5:04 average. Splits:  4:54, 4:57, 4:53, 5:16, 5:04, 5:04, 5:10, 5:05. Felt strong. Zak, Fritz, and I ran together step-for-step, which was fun. They looked great and are in killer shape. Mike and Scott looked great also and are in excellent shape as well. Scott ran 10 miles of tempo. Reed and Josh did great as well. Overall a great run, awesome company, and excellent weather.

Solid run once again Matt. You have put together quite the string of super quality weeks and incredible long run workouts.

It's getting closer! Thanks for having us down again.

Nice!! Another solid workout.

Who is Zak?

Matty! My goodness in the last month you have really elevated your game! It's very inspiring to watch your progress. STG will have no idea what hit it! Nice work.

Great run but more importantly, SMART week. Nothing forced in there... you're hitting the important workouts right on, keeping the volume up, getting enough easy days, etc.

From Matt Poulsen on Sat, Sep 14, 2013 at 15:07:25 from 98.202.242.213

Thanks guys.

Andrea: Fritz answered your question very well. Zak is an incredible runner. He will be one of the runners contending for the win at St. George. I ran against him in high school and college. In fact, just the other day, we put 2 and 2 together and realized that we are both mentioned in the same chapter in "Running with the Buffaloes" (in the results listing for the district cross country championship race). Kind of fun. He is a great guy and class act. He will turn a lot of heads at St. George.

Man, I'm bringing my running with the buffs book for you both to sign to add to mark wetmore's signature! I can't tell you how excited I am for St. George and I'm not even racing. Keep up the great consistency. 3 weeks to go!

Such a great week of training and another "Holy Cow" workout today! You have been so smart about this build up and your confidence is so contagious.

I'm excited to see you turn some heads at SGM.

I must bring some autograph materials down to SG, this race will be legend.

Nice - I love the up and back!

Nice to see you guys getting Zac going! We ran at SUUtogether our Freshman year (he was a stud I was a walk-on and had quit by the time he got back from his miss). But he was always a great guy and super encouraging to us duds! Looks liked am really going to have to fight to land a decent place with the crew you guys got going.

Holy Cow is right! Paces in the low 5's are becoming common place for you. Great build up you have going. Very excited to see all you guys throw it down at SGM.

Thanks guys. You all are impressive runners and competitors, and I sure look up to you.

Dave, you are far from being a "dud". You are an amazing runner! And I sure ate your dust at St. George half :)
