15 easy miles on Jordan River Trail. Upper body weights.

I'm glad to be back training. Just trying to ease into it. I had to take nearly 2 months off because of my hamstring. Very frustrating, but such is life. You just have to roll with it. I fought it for several weeks (I forced training through it), and I made it really bad. I knew I had to completely rest it. For much of the past year, I've ran through hamstring pain (but that was do-able). This was different -- really bad. I tried everything imaginable to get over it. Absolutely nothing helped. I finally just stopped everything. A few weeks later, the badness went away. It's not 100%, but it's certainly much-improved. During those 2 months, I cross-trained some, but I admit it:  I certainly was not as diligent as I could have been.

I took a break from the blog. That's why I haven't posted anything lately. I just needed a break -- to re-focus and get healthy.

I've definitely lost fitness, and I've gained 10 pounds (lost a couple this week). But at least I'm not starting from scratch -- I can feel that I've still got some fitness in me. It's time to get in shape.

Welcome back Matt! I've missed your posts. I have a feeling this little setback is just preceding a huge breakthrough. Be smart as you're getting back into things.

Great news. Now, don't rush it, with all that extra poundage you might be vulnerable:) Good to see you back running.

Welcome back man! I've missed the Terminator's posts!

And hey look on the bright side, you may be up 10 pounds, but you're still lighter than me!
