Nothing fancy. Didn't decide to do this race until I woke up this morning. Splits:  5:03, 5:10, 5:04, :30 (.11). Felt Ok, but not great. But, I can't really expect more based on where my fitness is currently. Fun race. Great weather. Very flat course. Stacked race. Many great performances. In my opinion, Scott stole the show today:  15:11 (PR) -- Excellent race! Josh E. also had an exceptional race (improved his time from last year by ~ 2 min).

Nice race Matt. Solid coming off the half last week. 15:48 for 7th? Crazy stacked.

Nice race Matt. Great seeing you again and cooling down with ya. It was fun out there this morning...painful but fun.

Hope to see you many more times this year!

Nice race Matt. It's a lot of fun to be out there knowing so many of the runners and getting good feedback from everyone.

nice race today, matt. i love that this series attracts so many runners despite its reputation for having such brutal weather. quite the field today!

i wish they would have had those patio heaters lining the course.

That's the great part about the 10 AM start time. You can get up, eat breakfast, lay around a while and then decide to race. It's more civilized that way.

Great race Matt.

I'm sure glad you decided to come and get a good speed workout in today after a day of dragging a one-million-pound elk around the mountain yesterday. I sure appreciated your company as always. Races like this one just keep stoking those flames for you :-)

From SpencerSimpson on Sun, Jan 26, 2014 at 13:11:07 from 166.137.209.41

Of course you would just show up to this last second. Nice workout. Your fitness is going to be fine. You're in fantastic spot with everything you have dealt with the past 6 months. Gonna be a really fun year in 14. Make it happen.

Nice job Matt. If any of us were hauling elk on Friday we wouldn't have shown up, let alone run sub 16.

What's this elk talk? Are elk steaks for breakfast next time we come down for a weekend run? :-)

Hey, when 15:48 in January is so-so, you're alright. Just keep building.

Great race Matt. Looks like quite a field to run around with.

Really great race Matt. Nothing dissapointing about running 5:05 pace for a 5k!! Also look at your progress in the last year...very inspiring. Your in a really great place going into 2014.

Another solid race in the books for the year. Think your gonna have a year of PR's. Good job!
