20 miles, large crew, mostly in Provo canyon. Great run. 8 easy miles up to Vivian Park. Then, did 8 tempo miles from Vivian to Will's Pit Stop on University (heading south into Provo). Tempo went better than expected. Mike, Scott, and I ran shoulder-to-shoulder the entire time.

8-mile tempo:  5:11 average (5:17, 5:16, 5:07, 5:05, 5:16, 5:09, 5:09, 5:08).

Note to self:  Nike Pegasus are NOT good shoes for tempo.  Equipment doesn't make the runner, but boy did these shoes feel heavy and non-responsive today.

Went to breakfast afterword to celebrate Brandon's birthday.

Great run and nice tempo. Sounds like the Vivian Park runs are starting early this year. I know what you mean about clunky shoes. I wore some 10 mm drop New Balance cushioned shoes today and I didn't feel quick at all.

Great workout! A light, fleet-footed fellow like yourself can benefit from lighter shoes. It's nice to get the right feel even if it doesn't make a a tremendous difference.

Nice tempo Matt. We'll have to come see the UT valley crew before long.

And imagine how easy that tempo would have been without those ankle weights! Well done, Matt. That's a great run.
